Laura Cook obtained her Master’s degree from Geneva College and is currently a Ph.D candidate at Duquesne University. Laura’s priority as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to support you in gaining insight to life’s challenges and providing you with the skills to manage them in a safe, therapeutic environment. Laura values a strengths-based approach with her work while also integrating evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. She specializes in work with children, adolescents, and families but can provide individual treatment to adults as well. Laura welcomes people of all backgrounds, including the LGBTQIA community, to join her in finding their most authentic self in an inclusive, non-judgmental environment. Laura has a background of working in higher levels of care including intensive behavioral health services (IBHS), family-based mental health services (FBMHS), partial hospitalization, and inpatient psychiatric hospitalization with children and adolescents.
