Cristina Trout has a Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College, is a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. She has over 5 years of experience in outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and co-occurring mental health disorders. Cristina utilizes a client-centered approach by meeting the needs of the client; and working with them on finding ways to regain a healthy lifestyle. She is passionate about creating a safe environment where clients can share and feel heard, as well as gain education and resources that can help them succeed and stand on their own two feet. Change can be challenging, but Cristina believes that working together collaboratively with the client towards a goal can make all the difference; to know they are not alone. She will help the client to find healthy coping skills, personal strengths and realistic solutions that will improve their daily life. Cristina uses evidence based therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Seeking Safety. She has experience and training in addictions, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, panic disorder, anger management, depression, adjustment disorder, family/couple therapy, and relational conflict.
