Alysse completed her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. After working in psychiatric research, Alysse went on to obtain a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Public Health, graduating with both degrees in the Spring of 2020. Alysse has interned, volunteered, and worked in a number of mental health related settings over the past decade. Alysse has experience working with patients who have a range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, seasonal affective disorder, borderline personality, ADHD, bipolar, and schizophrenia. Alysse has experience helping clients cope with a range of life experiences as well including processing grief, coping with domestic violence and trauma, creating healthier relationships, and developing healthy habits including improved sleep, physical activity, and reducing or quitting using substances. Alysse is also happy to help clients build insight, coping skills and grow in other areas.  Alysse is comfortable working with clients who are sexual or gender minorities, have different ability levels, or other minority groups and will always strive to ensure her work is supportive and empowering. With a background in social work, Alysse is aware of how larger systems, like work, school, and culture, affect daily life. Alysse is trained in a range of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and mindfulness. Alysse will work collaboratively with the client to determine the best course of treatment. Alysse strives to make a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where clients can learn more about themselves, their experiences, and grow.
