Who & What we treat
At Cognitive Behavior Institute, we use established treatment methods that have proven to be effective for a wide range of psychological issues. You as the consumer want to be sure that you receive the best care possible, which equals the best outcome possible. Cognitive Behavior Institute founder Kevin Caridad is certified by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and has proven expertise with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. The importance of being Certified is that it illustrates the therapist can apply CBT in the correct dose. Cognitive Behavior Institute is pleased to announce that psychiatric services are available through Psych-Med Associates and Blackbird Health at CBI’s Cranberry location. Board Certified Psychiatrists will work closely with each patient’s CBI therapist to coordinate their medication management and therapeutic treatment plan. It is our goal to ensure that all our patient’s mental health needs are met here at Cognitive Behavior Institute.
What is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a relatively short-term, focused form of psychotherapy for a wide range of psychological problems. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is used to help treat a range of problems such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance or alcohol abuse. CBT is a structured goal-oriented approach focused on influencing dysfunctional thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Our goal is to help our clients learn to replace or transcend dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors with more realistic and useful ones. Clinical studies have proven that CBT, either as part of one-on-one sessions or in groups settings, can effectively treat many clinical issues. Our goal is to help our clients address their problems quickly and effectively. We offer Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Cranberry Township, Monroeville and Mt. Lebanon. Contact us for an appointment.
