Sam is a Nationally Certified counselor specializing in crisis and trauma. She utilizes evidence based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Exposure Therapies, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Her other specialties include Anxiety disorders, Eating Disorders, Depression, LGBTQIA+ mental health, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. She approaches eating disorders using the Health at Every Size framework, which is a 'continuously evolving alternative to the weight-centered approach to treating clients and patients of all sizes. It is also a movement working to promote size-acceptance, and to end weight discrimination.' Before she became a nationally certified counselor, she was a disability rights and sexual assault advocate and this advocacy is built into her counseling framework. She has experience working with people from ages 5 to 55 years in age. Sam believes in well researched counseling methods that can be tailored to fit the unique needs of her clients.
